Stella Butzkueven is an emerging musician in Melbourne’s choral arts community with a strong passion for creating joy in music and building community. She has been singing and playing the piano since childhood and is a proud lifelong chorister, having sung with many choirs throughout her schooling and into adulthood.

Stella has been conducting and leading groups of singers for the past three years in various roles with the Keytones Choir, shOUT Youth Chorus and Melbourne Pride Chorus as well as informal ensembles with friends and family. She is also a freelance choral arranger and enjoys re-interpreting pop music for choirs in dynamic and unexpected ways, with influences from barbershop, musical theatre, classical choral music and digital audio production. Her pieces have been performed around Melbourne. In 2026 she joins ARCappella in her first independent leadership role as Choir Director.

Stella also works as an automotive engineer and is passionate about problem-solving, understanding user needs and creating a safer and more sustainable world. In her spare time she enjoys reading, crochet and seeing live music. She is passionate about sharing her love of music and its ability to built community and harness emotion.
